The 5th Annual World Golfers Championship was played at Indian Wells and Desert Willow in Palm Springs, California. Everyone stayed at the explicit Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, an oasis nestled among towering palm trees beneath the dramatic Eisenhower Peak of the Santa Rosa Mountains.
The Golf Resort at Indian Wells is named among the “Top 10 Resorts in California” by California Golf Magazine and a winner of Golf Magazine’s “Silver Medal Award”.
Indian Wells Club House and Putting GreenIndian Wells is truly a golfer’s paradise featuring lush greens, rolling fairways, pristine lakes and breathtaking views. From golf’s biggest names, to movie stars and Presidents – this is where legends come to play.
This 36-hole Palm Springs golf resort, minutes away from Palm Desert, features a magnificent 53,000 square-foot clubhouse and is the only facility in California with two courses ranked in the Top 20 “Best Courses You Can Play” in California by Golfweek Magazine.
Golf Channel’s popular Big Break series was contested at Indian Wells Golf Resort for its 15th season and showcased the resort’s two championship golf courses – Celebrity Course & Players Course. The Celebrity Course is a two-time host to the PGA TOUR’s Skins Game.
1999 Desert Willow
Desert Willow was selected by Golf Digest as one of “The Places To Play” and offers two championship Southern California golf courses designed by Micheal Hurdzan and Dana Fry. It’s been the host of many large tournaments. Desert Willow also features a magnificent clubhouse, personalized service, and spectacular desert mountain views.
The Firecliff Course was 2012 voted Best Public Access Golf Course for the 3rd Year in a row by Desert Golf Magazine. Measuring 7,056 yards, it’s a true test of skill where golfers must negotiate their way around extensive natural areas, numerous water features and more than 100 bunkers/waste areas. While enjoying your round, remember to take in your surroundings and appreciate the Desert Willow views and beauty.
In fact, Golf Digest named the Firecliff course one of the “Places To Play.” This tournament tested layout is one of only three courses in California and one of the best 50 in the United Sates to receive this distinction in terms of conditioning.
The Mountain View Course is one of the more resort type southern California golf courses with wider fairways and limited desert waste areas. But don’t be deceived; Mountain View, measuring 6,913 yards, is rated just slightly less difficult than Firecliff. With more forgiving fairways, 98 well-placed bunkers, sloping greens and seven water features, Mountain View still requires the best from golfers of all levels.
All in all, Desert Willow is one of the most pictoresque places we’ve ever visited.
